So many of my memories growing up involve going from Mum's house to Dad's and back again. Visualises the apprehension of continuously crossing each threshold, both arriving and departing, powerless to slow down or speed up.
It left such a scar on me that as a young father I made solemn oaths to myself that I would never allow the same scenario to happen to my own two boys.
But it happened anyway.
All three of us are on that swing.
Now I feel the same awful rhythm of coming and going, hellos and goodbyes.
